The beginnings of Corovita organic olive oil
The Sen family's fields were passed down from generation to generation and mostly left untouched. The harvest was collected once a year and resold for no purpose. This came to an abrupt end when the grandmother made a fundamental decision: Either the fields would be put to good use from now on or sold.
This is where owner Deniz Sen comes in. He decided to take over the fields in Turkey and made a successful attempt to build a business.
The first major decision wasn't long in coming: the olive fields were to be fully certified organic. At that time, the organic market in Germany was still a niche, found only in specialized markets.
The origin of Corovita organic olive oil

The Sen family is based in the small town of Gülpinar in western Turkey, not far from the ancient cities of Assos and Troy. Olive cultivation is widespread in this region, as the climate is ideal for cultivation.
The family's fields are located directly by the sea. This has several advantages: The olives are protected from the worst of summer heat thanks to the constant sea breeze, the wind also helps to drive fruit flies away from the fields, and in winter, the direct proximity to the Aegean Sea protects the fields from the intense cold.
The view of our Mirtat field, in particular, is a dreamlike sight. It's by far the most beautiful and offers a spectacular panorama. The slopes, dotted with olive trees, border gently sloping cliffs, which are located directly on wonderful, deserted beaches.
The story of Corovita BIO-Mirtat
The Mirtat field has been owned by the Sen family since 1955 and covers approximately 10 hectares. Originally, it was not used for olive cultivation, but flourished with natural vegetation, including wild olive trees.
Through long and painstaking work, the wilderness was replaced by a pure olive grove. Over time, the Mirtat field became, and still is, the jewel of the family business. As soon as you enter the grove and are surrounded by the sound of the sea and evergreen olive trees, you enter another world, and this enchanted beauty becomes your new home.

Good quality means good care. Unlike in the past, the fields are now cultivated year-round. This is entirely in keeping with the classic cycle of olive cultivation , with the trees being tended shortly after harvest and prepared for the following year.
Harvest time in the Sen family's fields usually begins in November. The olives are gently picked from the trees using a mechanical process and then transported in crates to the family's own mill.
Particular attention is paid to speed, because the faster the organic olives are processed and pressed into olive oil, the better the end result. To ensure this speed, the family owns its own mill, which processes exclusively olives from its own fields using a modern cold extraction process. This operation, too, operates day and night without breaks during peak season.
This is the only way to ensure that the organic olive oil meets the highest standards and always offers the best possible quality. The finished Corovita organic olive oil is then stored in high-quality stainless steel tanks.
